Day to day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival and Transfer to Karatu

Kilimanjaro Airport – Karatu (Approx. 2-hour transfer)

Program: Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our professional guide will greet you with a warm Tanzanian welcome. You’ll then embark on a scenic drive to the charming village of Karatu, nestled on the doorstep of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the way, you may have the opportunity to visit local markets, where vibrant colors and authentic crafts capture the essence of Tanzanian culture. If preferred, relax at your lodge, taking in the serene views of the lush surroundings.

Activities: Optional stops at local markets or relaxation at the lodge.

Accommodation:

  • Dinner and overnight at Farm of Dreams Lodge, Marera Lodge, or Kudu Lodge.

Day 2 & 3 – Serengeti Central: A Wildlife Spectacle

Karatu – Ngorongoro – Serengeti (Approx. 3-hour transfer)

Program: After a hearty breakfast, venture into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, traversing its misty highlands before descending into the boundless plains of the Serengeti. Upon entering Serengeti National Park, the game drive begins immediately, with endless opportunities to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and more. Spend two full days exploring this world-famous park, where the drama of life and survival unfolds before your eyes.

Activities: Full-day game drives.

Highlights: Serengeti, the crown jewel of Africa’s national parks, spans over 15,000 square kilometers and is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. The golden plains, dotted with acacia trees, are alive with predators stalking their prey and herds of herbivores roaming freely.

  • Dinner and overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp, Tanzania Bush Camp, or Mbugani Tented Camp.

Day 4 & 5 – Serengeti North: Witness the Great Migration

Program: Continue your Serengeti adventure by heading north to the Lobo, Bologonya, and Mara regions, where the iconic Great Migration comes to life. From July to October, the herds gather to cross the Mara River, a scene filled with heart-pounding excitement and resilience as wildebeests and zebras brave crocodile-infested waters.

Activities: Game drives focusing on the Great Migration.

Highlights: The Mara River crossing is a must-see phenomenon, where survival instincts and nature’s raw power collide. The surrounding areas also offer incredible predator action as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas hunt amidst the chaos.

Day 6 – Serengeti & Ngorongoro: Into the Highlands

Program: After a morning game drive and a picnic lunch in Serengeti, bid farewell to its captivating plains and journey back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the crater rim, where your lodge offers spectacular views of this natural wonder.

Activities: Morning game drive in Serengeti.

Highlights: The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a vast caldera teeming with diverse wildlife. Its unique ecosystem makes it a haven for thousands of animals, including rare black rhinos.

Accommodation:

  • Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater: A Wildlife Paradise

Ngorongoro (gate) – Arusha (Approx. 3-hour transfer)

Program: Begin your day with an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Marvel at the density and variety of wildlife, from lions lounging in the grasslands to flamingos gracing the soda lake. After a picnic lunch, ascend the crater and make your way back to Arusha, where your safari concludes.
